This is off the subject, but do you go to KU? I did a couple of years ago, before I transferred to ESU.

Going deeper into JW stupidities
by ClassAvenger inok, i am totally frustrated with these jehovah witnesses.
they drove me out of the limit today when they said that satan was not cast out of heaven and sent to earth until 1914. im like, "what the hell???
" what is their freaking problem.

They also claimed that the angels had sex with females during Noah's times (Gen. 6:1).
Yeah, that bothered me as well. Their reasoning behind that is the race that was allegedly created as a result of human angels were bigger and stronger or whatever. Therefore, they reason that they had to have been produced by angels. Interestingly enough, the Bible NEVER EXPLICITLY states that angels took on the form of man and took wives. If the point is so important like JWs say, then I think the Bible would make it crystal clear.

I hear the Mother Organization needs a brand new printing press, complete with a $5 mil. price tag. My question is: Where are they going to get that kind of money? From my understanding, they have a hard enough time making ends meet as it is, or is that what they just let on to the grunts at meetings?

I've heard stories from websites talking about how elders take advantage of younger girls. It would seem the stories are true...unfortunately. :(

Convention Concessions
by Euphemism inhere's a question for you all... why does the society insist that all concession stands be closed at their convention facilities?.
i can understand that back when they provided their own food service, they would not want the competition.
(and in all fairness, their service was undoubtedly cheaper for the friends, many of whom have limited funds.

It's simple... because every dollar that went to buying something from a vendor would be a dollar that did not go to the WTS donation box.
Not for me. I'd just use that money to buy more video games.

Do you consider the JWs as Christians?

are the jws to be counted as a "christian religion?

Christ was more concerned about the spirit of the law versus the letter of the law.
Yeah. Jesus always used common sense.
Good points, Bradley. The JWs and Evangelicals detest each other because they're pups from the same bitch, vying for the same audience.
ROFL!

1914, how does the Watchtower calculate this ???
by run dont walk inokay i haven't been to a meeting in 15 years and my memory has slipped on this one, so to the best of your knowledge how does the watchtower come up with 1914.. i understand the 607 bce jerusalem thing, (which we know is wrong more like 587/586).
i understand the gentile times / seven times thing that gives you 2520 years ( 7 x 360).
i understand the day for a year calculation.. but the part i don't get is why only 360 days for a year and not 365 or 365.25, you can't calculate only 360 days a year through history because it would throw everything off.. hey maybe the watchtower will get "new light" on this and change it to 365 , it would give them an extra 35 years to work with ????.

The Borg is simply reading something there, that isn't there at all.
That's kinda the way they are with half their doctrines.

What I never understood is how they know for sure that the seven times applies to the restoration of the Heavenly Kingdom and not just the story about the king that went nuts.
